The World of the Vikings

Lots of interest here; this is a big-picture overview about Vikings in general. My favorite part was learning that the runic alphabet isn't called an alphabet: it's called a futhark, because the first letters are F, U, þ, A, R, K. This is just like alpha, beta, => alphabet, after all.

The futhark runes themselves seem super learnable; if I was 10 years old and had nerdy friends I would make them all use this as a secret code.
