The Wind in the Willows

Notes

Re-reading this with the kids as our bedtime reading book, and I'd forgotten how funny and beautiful it is. We chose it because it plays a role in All the Wrong Questions, a series we just finished (and liked a lot). But Trudy especially cracked up at Toad, over and over. Good job Kenneth Grahame!

Quotes

O Mole! the beauty of it! The merry bubble and joy, the thin, clear, happy call of the distant piping! Such music I never dreamed of, and the call in it is stronger even than the music is sweet! Row on, Mole, row! For the music and the call must be for us.

Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.
