Semen Dezhnev was an explorer / trader who was the first European to explore some of the eastermost areas of Russia, and possibly the first to navigate the Bering Straight. I'm totally into first-person travel/exploration documents, but this one is pretty scant in its narrative. The book is mostly academic explanation about the documents.
