The Tale of Despereaux

Notes

We read this one at bedtime by Trudy's request - she had read it with her class at school and really liked it. We had a copy because Erika and I bought it YEARS ago to read to each other on a long road trip. That was pre-kids, but also pre-podcasts and pre-streaming radio, so long road trips had very, very limited options for audio back then.

This was better than I remembered! Kate Dicamilo writes books that are FUN to read out loud. Of course it's too preachy, but that's probably par for the 'favorite kids book' course.
