The Orenda

I read this quickly, almost all of it on a transatlantic flight. It's ... interesting? But absolutely not my thing. It seems sort of historically convincing, but it has occasional jarringly modern turns of phrase. The plot was interesting enough to move it along, but the characters seemed a little opaque to themselves, and therefore somehow passive, or robotic. Despite all the blood (and there is a lot of blood), it seemed dry.
