The Life of Our Lord

Dickens wrote this for his children, at the height of his powers, and never allowed it to be published while he or his children were still living (it finally was in the 1930s I think). It's better reading than the Child's History of England, but has its own saccharine child-speak to it that makes it not-very-dickensian.
