Mugby Junction

Notes

I DO love a 'concept album' here; Dickens has invented a frame narrative about a man visiting a railway junction, which has its own plot. And then there is a story about each of the seven railway lines that goes into Mugby Junction. There's a Dickensian ghost story!

This is a collection of short stories compiled by Dickens for his magazine, half of which are written by Dickens. You can tell this is a kind of 'gotta fill the column inches' kind of work, but on the other hand: it's still Charles Dickens. He's good even when he's not good.
